Malaysian Airliner Crashes in Ukraine (17th July 2014)
A Malaysian Boeing 777 operating flight number MH17 from Amsterdam to Kuala Lumpur has crashed in east Ukraine. The airliner is reported to have been carrying 295 people.
A tweet from Malaysia Airlines said it had lost contact with Flight MH17 from Amsterdam and that its last known position was over Ukraine. Burning wreckage has been located on the ground in eastern Ukraine near the Russian border.
